Basingstoke & Deane call for sites
14.06.2019 ← BackAs part of an update to their Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council are currently undertaking a 'Call For Sites'. This is a prime opportunity for local landowners to put forward their sites for consideration for allocation in the Local Plan. Details on the process (running until 3rd July 2019) can be found here but the key requirement is that potential sites should be capable of accommodating;
- At least five residential units including self-build, custom build, and care accommodation;
- Employment development including sites for industrial, storage and distribution uses. The land area must be at least 0.25 hectares or able to accommodate over 500 square metres of floorspace.
- Other uses such as retail, community uses, open space or health.
Our colleagues at Plainview Planning have undertaken mapping analysis of the borough and have highlighted restricted areas that are less likely to be successful in the allocation process. The map can be viewed here and is a useful starting point if you have a site in the borough.
Should you have appropriate land in the area, Context can assist with representations and potentially funding and managing a future planning application. Site details can be submitted to us online via; Your Site.
